Stereotypes

These are the simplified representations of a person, social groups or place, through basic or obvious characteristics- which are often exaggerated.

Stereotypes are usually negative representations and most have alot of assumptions and cultural capital laced within them; this again, create a very negative effect.

Examples of stereotypes would be ‘all blondes are dumb’, ‘men don’t cry’ and ‘asians are bad at driving’ these are all very out dated and unreliable stereotypes that have no factual evidence to their truth.
