Role of a foley artist in the thriller genre
For stsrtaers a foley artist is someone with a large supply of props who creates sound effects using said props; for example if there was a scene whitch required distinct footstep noises a foley artist may uss a pair of shoes in a sandpit, or if someone had just broken their arm a foley artist might use a stick of celery to mimick the cracking of the bones.
In my opinion the thriller genre is one of the more Psychological psychological genres in which imagination is challenged; this makes foley noise all the more inmportant becuase of the violoent contrast between the use of silence and the abuse of sound.
The foley artists behind the award winning thriller A Quiet Place (2018 Directed by John Krasinski) discusses the innovative materials used to create the sounds in the movie.
