Audience Theories: Hypodermic Syringe

The hypodermic syringe is a model of communication suggesting that an intended message is directly received and accepted by the receiver. This is a key theory i have had to keep in mind when studying and planning a thriller production because of the key basis of the theory in which it states that we, as a passive audience accept and retain what we see without even realising. This is crucial in the thriller genre because one must be carful of presenting a narrative that could be misunderstood and i terpruted in the wrong way.
